 | The design was inspired by the Luckenbooth Heart,
a traditional Scottish symbol of friendship which dates back to the time of Mary Queen of Scots.
Luckenbooths were sold in 'locking booths' or temporary shops alongside St. Giles cathedral in Edinburgh,
inthe early 16th century.
They were often used as betrothal gifts and were commonly given by the groom to his bride on their wedding day,
and then put away until their first childs wedding. |
